RESOLUTION #1264:
  A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE “FIX OUR ROADS” CITIZEN COMMITTEE TO ADVISE THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL ON THE USE OF THE OPTIONAL ONE PERCENT EXCISE TAX REVENUES

 WHEREAS, the voters of Fremont County enacted an Optional One Percent Excise tax in the General Election on November 6, 2012; and

 WHEREAS, the City Council enacted Resolution #1253 committing the City of Riverton to use the revenue generated by the tax for “infrastructure projects related to streets, roads, bridges, water and sewer utilities”; and

 WHEREAS, part of the informational campaign to pass the optional one percent excise tax the Mayor and City Council committed to establish a citizens committee to guide the City on which projects to utilize the tax revenues for and to provide fiscal guidance on the funds;

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF RIVERTON, WYOMING that the City of Riverton will establish a “Fix our Roads Citizen Committee” (FORCC) for the purpose of advising the Mayor and Council on priorities for the use of the revenues generated by the Optional One Percent Excise Tax revenues; and

 BE IT FURTHER RESOVED that the committee will consist of nine to eleven members of qualified Riverton residents appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. 

 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the governing body of the City of Riverton, Wyoming, this 4th day of December, 2012.
