Animal Control

The Police Department employs a full-time Animal Control Officer whose duties include catching stray dogs, trapping feral animals, and working directly with the local animal shelter to reunite lost pets with their families.

Dogs who reside within the city limits are required to be licensed.  The license fees are as follows: an altered dog for 1 year is $10 and for 3 years is $15; an unaltered dog for 1 year is $20 and for 3 years is $50. The license is valid for three years.  

Licenses can be purchased at the City Hall in the Police Department with the Administrative Assistant, by contacting the Animal Control Officer, or the animal adoption center (PAWS) located at 515 S. Smith Road.
