Special Response Team
SRT is a specialized unit formed for the purpose of saving lives under technical or adverse conditions. Ten officers are assigned to the SRT on a part-time basis, and they train together monthly to ensure they are prepared to respond to any incident. SRT can be used to respond to hostage/barricade incidents, to serve high risk warrants, and to assist with searches. The SRT is led by Sergeant Scott Komrs and is directed by the Administrative Captain.
Although this team is called for only in specialized situations, the additional training these officers receive helps to prevent the escalation of day-to-day calls for service that have the potential for violence.
