regarding required plans and specifications.
Complete a Permit Application Information Sheet obtained from the Community
Development Department.
• Provide a completed Permit Application Information Sheet with the
complete plans showing your proposed construction.
Plans are reviewed.
• Plans are normally reviewed in the order they are received.
The length of the plan review time depends on the complexity
of the work, completeness of plans, and backlog of
plans at time received.
• When plan review is complete we will notify you either
by phone or by mail.
• Schedule a meeting to discuss and sign plan review. If
corrections or additional information is required, you
will be asked to submit corrected plans and/or additional information.
If no corrections are necessary, your plans will be approved.
Pay the permit fees and obtain a building permit.
• After your plans are approved and the permit application
for your project is signed by the permittee and the
Building Official, it becomes your building permit.
• Information regarding permit fees can be obtained from
the Community Development Department.
• Construction may start after permit issuance.
Inspections.
• The City may inspect all construction work that requires
a permit. You are responsible for notifying the Community Development Department at least one working day before you need
an inspection. The area of inspection must be accessible
and visible. Mandatory inspections include footings, foundations,
concrete slabs, structural framing, lath and/or gypsum
board, and final inspection. Plumbing, mechanical,
and electrical work must be inspected and approved before
it is concealed.
Obtain a Certificate of Occupancy before using
or occupying any building or structure.
