The Riverton Municipal Code requires that all dogs within
the City limits must be registered. All registrations expire
on December 31 of each year, regardless of when the previous
registration was obtained. Registrations can be obtained
at the Animal Adoption Center. The owner must have rabies vaccination proof to obtain the pet license. Vaccination proof must be within the last two years. Without proof, a rabies vaccination charge of $10.00 will be added to the license fee. Refund upon proof. Actual cost of vaccination is decided by the Vet.

The Riverton Municipal Code states that cats and dogs not
be allowed to run at large off the owner’s property.
The Animal Control Officer can impound any dog or cat found
running at large and a fee is required to claim the animal.

| Adoption
Fees: will be based on adoption fees at
breed specific rescues within the region. A minimum of $50.00 per animal
for cats. A minimum of $65.00 and up per animal for dogs, with a maximum of $200.00 for pure bred dogs.

Fees: will be determined by size of
animal, potential medical fees, special needs, injuries, etc. A minimum of
$20.00
